[x^(-1) - x^(-3)] / (x^3 - x^2)

Eliminate negative exponents and simplify; can't figure out what to do when there is addition and subtraction involved with exponents. Here is the problem again:

(X-1 – X-3) / (X3 – X2

And here's another similar problem if you're up for it:

(2x-1 + 3y-1) / (9x2 - 4y2)

(x2 - 1) / (x5(x2 - 1)) was written by Eric C, after "Factor out x2",

but it should be (x2 - 1) / (x5(x - 1))  ⇐ leads to correct answer:

(x+1)/x5
