Consider:
(1) whether the membership requires adherence to a Code of Conduct.
(2) whether you are an active member in local chapter activities (employers like employees to be recognized; prestigious activity reflects on the employer; awards are wonderful; "networking" is good for the employer)
(3) the professional status of the organization of which you are a member.
(4) that companies don't read resumés; they store them in a data base and do queries. If they look for this and you have it, good; if not, bad.
(5) employers compare applicants; if professional membership/activity is a discriminator (separates you from the pack), it may get you hired.
