Symbolism for an Art Journal?

Our topic for our art journal this month is "a year in review" to look back on this school year. For them we can draw, write, or use newspaper/magazine clippings. I was thinking if doing a road with signs that have the events I want to mention with pictures off to the side but idk. Any other ideas for like time moving on or complete ideas for the project?

It sounds like a very creative idea.  Something you may want to consider is having a small article about what happened that day.  It doesn't need to be much, just like the captions used on newspaper photos or textbooks.

 

If you want to show time moving on, I suggest you make a series of clocks moving forward with their time, like dotted lines.  So you have this:

 

 

BIG EVENT . . . . . BIG EVENT. . . . . BIG EVENT. . . . .

 

Replace each dot with a clock showing a later and later time of day and that will help show the passage of time.
