I would say "C. Profiting in the fur trade" is the correct answer since the trapping of animals to remove their fur for sale as pelts was an economic endeavor conducted in the "New World" principally in the colonies established in North America, i.e., by England, France and Holland, and not so much (as far as I know) in the Spanish colonies of México and Central and South America.
