Find the area of the rhombus given that the sides are 10 cm and 2 sides meet at a 45 degrees angle. (please list steps?)

I already know the answer to this question, however I need to know the steps to solve it so I can study.

Draw and label a diagram.
Draw an altitude from the 135° angle to the opposite side.
You have formed a 45-45-90 triangle
The altitude is s√2/2, or 5√2
Area = 10(5√2)
Area = 50√2

Thanks for the answer?, but why would the altitude be 5√2? I'm stuck because I got 10√2....

In a 45-45-90 triangle, a side is √2 / 2 times hypotenuse, which is the same as the side of the rhombus - 10 cm.
