Reciprocity is an element of social exchange theory. In social exchange theory, one person weighs the costs and benefits in an interaction with another person. They may expect something back from the interaction, thus reciprocity.
Attraction-similarity models focus on the idea that a person is attracted to group with others that have similar characteristics such as interests or beliefs.
