sale price = $104.5 - ($104.5 x 0.20) = $104.50 - $20.90 = $83.60

 

total price with tax = (sale price x tax) + sale price

total price = ($83.60 x 0.03) + $83.60 = $2.51 + $83.60 = $86.11
