Hi Kayvis...I'll take a guess here what you mean....

 

     Lets take the 4 1/2   and turn it into  an  Improper Fraction

 

   First MULTIPLY the 4 by 2  then add the 1   giving  9

 

          You know the common denominator is  2

 

             So, we have 9  OVER  2                    9

          This is before REDUCING     the        9

                 When  you REDUCE  the     9
