Given that y = 1.00 m, V₀ = 1.25 m/s, v_0y = 0.0 m/s

(a) To find the time of flight,

       y = V_0y t  + 1/2 gt²

   1.00 = 0 + 4.9 t²  or    t =√(1/4.9) ~ 0.45 seconds

 

(b)  x = v_0x t  ---->        x = 1.25 m/s*√(1/4.9) s ~0.565 meter
