What is the rate of the plane in still air and what is the rate of the wind?

Flying against the wind, an airplane travels 2320km in 4 hours. Flying with the wind, the same plane travels 8640km in
8 hours. What is the rate of the plane in still air and what is the rate of the wind?

 

I cannot figure out how to do this problem. please help

r=rate of the plane

w=rate of the wind

distance=rate*time

2320=(r-w)*4

8640=(r+w)*8

divide both sides of equation 1 by 4 and divide both sides of equation 2 by 8

580=r-w

1080=r+w

add the equations

1660=2r (-w+w=0)

r=1660/2

r=830 kph is the rate of the plane

1080=830+w

w=1080-830

w=250 kph is the rate of the wind
