Hello again Juliana,
Part I: To see if 4y-2x=6 has (1,2):
Plug in for x
4y-2x=6
4y-2=6
4y=6+2
4y=8
y=2
Since we get a y value of 2, we can conclude that 4y-2x=6 does pass through (1,2).
Part II: To see if y=4x+1 has (-3,13):
Plug in for x
y=4x+1
y=4(-3)+1
y=-12+1
y=-11
Since we get a y value of -11 (instead of +13), we conclude 4y-2x=6 does NOT pass through (-3,13).
Part III: To see if y=4x+1 has (-1,-3):
y=4x+1
y=4(-1)+1
y=-4+1
y=-3
Since we get a y value of -3, we conclude that 4y-2x=1 does pass through (-1,-3).
∴4y-2x=6 does pass through (1,2) while y=4x+1 does NOT pass through (-3,13), and y=4x+1 does pass through (-1,-3).
Best,
Star
