To graph the first equation you need to recognize that it is a circle (x2+y2=r2) where the center point is (0,0). An example with a center point of (2,-3) would be (x-2)2+(y+3)2=r2. The radius of your circle is √(5) ≈ 2.24
The second equation is much easier to graph. Simply find the y intercept (where x equals 0), and it is just a straight line.
The points where the two graphs intersect are the solutions to x and y.

y = 2 and 1
