A star in the making
For this question you will be using both subtraction and division. To set it up you will first use your known amount of money you have to spend, as well as the known charges. That will then give you your amount of money that is left over after your charges, and then you can figure out your max miles.
This is how you set up your problem: $34.50-$4.50-$3=$27. This gives you the total amount of money you have left after the initial charges of the taxi cost and tolls from the airport. You will then take your answer and divide it by the charge per mile to get your final answer. Setting up problem to find miles: $27÷$0.60 per mile= 45 miles
With $34.50 you are able to travel 45 miles from the airport by taxi.
