multiply 4.1 and 3.0 like normal and get 12.3, since it is multiplication add the exponents 5 and -2 to get 3.

B) 4*10^-7

 

multiply the first two together like in part A and get 2.4*10^3. Divide 2.4/6 and get .4. Since this is division subtract the exponents 3-9 and get -6. Your answer now looks like .4*10^-6. Move the decimal one place to the right to get the answer in scientific notation.
