substitute x=2y in 3x+4y = 20
=> 3 (2y) + 4y = 20
=> 6y + 4y = 20
=> 10y = 20
=> y = 20/10 = 2
substituting value of y in any of the 2 initial equations.
x = 2y
=> x = 2 (2) = 4
there the solution of equations is x = 4, y = 2
