any linear equation having only one variable either x or y gives the line parallel to y- axis or x-axis respectively..
2y=-6
or y=-6/2
y=-3 ; is the line parallel to x axis and passing through at (0,-3) i.e. 3 units below the x-axis because all the points on this line will have y-coordinate as -3.
Same for y=-6 ; this line will be parallel to x-axis and passing through (0,-6) i.e. 6 units below the x-axis
and 5x=0
or x=0 ; this line will be parallel to y-axis and pass through (0,0) ie. its the equation of y-axis.

yes...actually the equation of x-axis is y=0 and equation of y-axis is x=0

Joke:
A: This is an intelligence test; I'll give you the answer. The answer is STOP. ...
A: What do you do at a grocery store?
B; Stop
A: Spell stop
B: S-T-O-P
A: o.k., we have to do it faster ... repeat three times, getting faster and really focused.
Then (quickly) ...
A: What do you do at a green light?
Note: people who write math questions really enjoy including a "brick to stumble over" or a "brick wall to run into."
