• m = mass
• v = velocity

 

This equation is the kinetic energy gained by a charge q that passes through a voltage V.  To solve for mass (m), first multiply both sides by 2:

 

      2qV = mv²

 

Then divide both sides by v²:

 

      2qV/v² = m

 

and you're done.
