You can answer this question simply by counting.
2 plus 2 points to the number that is 2 numbers more than 2, when counting from 1 to 10.
Counting the numbers 1 through 10, you can see that the number that is 2 numbers more than 2 is:
1 , 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8....

2 is the number you start counting at and this is your beginning number.
3 is the next number from 2, and this is the number that is 1 number away from 2.
4 is the number after 3, and this is the number that is 2 numbers away from 2.
Therefore, you can figure out that 2 plus 2 is equal to 4.
