🧠 How to Find the Greatest Common Factor (GCF)
The GCF is the biggest number that can divide evenly into two (or more) numbers. Here's how to find it:
🔢 Step 1: List the factors of each number
- Factors are numbers that multiply to make the number.
- Example: Factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12
🧮 Step 2: Circle or highlight the factors that are the same
- These are called common factors.
- Example: Factors of 12 and 18 → both have 1, 2, 3, 6
⭐ Step 3: Choose the biggest one
- That’s the Greatest Common Factor (GCF)!
- GCF of 12 and 18 is 6
