Hi! I just wanted to put in my opinion here as I'm going through the same process right now! I took my average scores of 40-50% right on uWorld to the high 70% and low 80%. I have a 3 pronged approach to my method:
- Anki: AnKing v11/v12 is unmatched. Settings are all preference but I would be happy to help with that.
- Fully 100% analyzing every single answer choice on the questions you get wrong/flagged. I always flag a question when I am not entirely certain of the answer. I will end up with many questions flagged!!! My uncertainty means that I do not have that knowledge 100% down and need to review it a bit more. It adds more work but saves time in the long run!
- A running list of my incorrect problems. I personally use Notion, but you can use whatever software works for you. I separate my notes into systems just like uWorld does at the bottom of the question(Nervous system, Derm, MSK...) I write out an in depth explanation as to what I was missing and what pieces of information I needed to get it right. I also then analyze the other answer choices and write down the information I needed to *****ELIMINATE THOSE******. Some times eliminating other answer choices is easier than just knowing the right answer!!!!
This is a broad overview of what I do to study and have to been excelling! If you want any personal tutoring or want to ask more question you can book with me at the "MCAT online rate" and I would be happy to go over some topics with you. I'm especially good with the cardiovascular system, but would be capable of helping out in any of the systems really. Good Luck!
