How Do I Write a Good Essay?

First, analyze the prompt if you are given one. Look for keywords in the prompt like "describe," "explain," and "convince." These keywords tell you what kind of essay you are to write. Most students do not pay close attention to prompts, and their essay is immediately incorrect because they didn't read the prompt carefully. Next, create a strong thesis or main idea that is the central or big idea you want to communicate in your essay. If your essay is an argumentative paper, your thesis must include one of these words--"should", "must," "ought," or "will." If your teacher allows you to use the first-person perspective, you can also use the words "I believe" or "I think." For each body paragraph, you will provide evidence and reasons why your thesis should be believed. Paragraphs include a topic sentence at the start of the paragraph, which explains an aspect of the thesis and offers evidence to support the topic sentence statement and the thesis ultimately. There are lots of essay types. Each essay is unique. Contact me and I'll help you write your essay and raise your essay grades!
