You can also consider shooting on a used screen or phone screen surface. The screen creates a black reflection that reflects the jewelry. This can be a desirable effect, but you have to shoot it at a specific angle. Also the screen needs to be turned off. Shooting with a tripod is important, to minimize shake, and make sure your shutter speed is relatively high, such as 500/sec or more. Low ISO is also a big help. If the photo is fairly sharp, sharpening in Photoshop can help even more, but be careful not to overdo it. Mostly, take your time focusing in the camera.
