sqr(x-1) + 2 = sqr(2x+2)
square both sides
x-1 + 4sqr(x-1) + 4 = 2x+2
4sqr(x-1) = x-1
sqr(x-1) = x/4 +1/4
square both sides
x-1 = x^2/16 +x/8 + 1/16
multiply by 16
16x -16 = x^2 -2x +1
x^2 -18x +17 = 0
(x-17)(x-1) = 0
x = 1 or 17
