Drag the term -4y to the left of the equal sign. This is also called "transposing a term". When you drag a term you must change its sign. What is really happening is that you are adding 4y to both sides of the equation. Similarly drag the term 12x to the right of the equal sign (again changing its sign). At this point you have:
4y = -12x - 8
Since the goal is to isolate "y", divide every term of the equation by its coefficient (4).
y = -3x - 2
The y-coordinate of the y-intercept is -2. So the y-intercept is the ordered pair (0,-2). Note that the slope of the line is m = -3.
