Recall the standard form of a linear equation:
ax+by = c
where
a, b, c are constants. Typically for standard form, it's preferred that these are integers.
Look up and review the definition of an integer if you are unfamiliar.
Your goal is to use algebra to manipulate the equation you're given y=1/2x-4, into the form above.
y=1/2x-4 [original equation]
-1/2x + y = -4 [subtract 1/2x from both sides]
-x + 2y = -8 [multiply both sides by 2; remember that you want to constants as integers]
