Composition I-4 requres students to document research papers correctly, so students must be taught APA or MLA rules of formatting pappers according to APA/SAT conventions. I teach basic grammar with rules about how to use quotations, single or double quotes, when to block pssages, and when to use parenthetical docunentation. I help students learn these techniques. Without knowing grammar, students may plagarize. Also, I tach the structure reading, writing, vocabulary development, prefixes, suffixes to determine how a part of speech is used.
