Let x = 1st integer
x+1 = 2nd integer (since the are consecutive)
The equation would be
x+x+1 = -55 Combine like terms
2x+1 = -55 Subtract 1 from both sides
2x = -56 Divide both sides by 2
x = -28 (1st integer)
x+1 = -27 (2nd integer)
The integers are -27, -28
-55/2 = --27.5
Round up and down.
-27 and -28
