Use the fact that distance equals rate multiplied by time.
D = RT
Initially you are given the distance and the time, so you can solve for the rate at which the car is travelling.
If D = RT, then R = D/T.
R = (2+1/3)miles / (3 + 1/2) minutes = 7/3 / 7/2 = (7/3)(2/7) = 2/3 miles/minute.
Now that you know the rate you can find the distance travelled for given times.
For 43 minutes:
D = (2/3)mi/min (43)min = 86/3 miles = (28 + 2/3) miles
For 1 hour which is 60 minutes:
D = 2/3 mi/min 60 minutes = 40 miles
