Given:
- If we add t he two sisters Jane and Nicole's age it is equal to 32.
- The difference between their age is 6.
Let us solve now;
Assume Jane's age as X and Nicole's age as Y.
Let us write the equation based on the given conditions,
Equation 1: X+Y =32;
Equation 2: X-Y = 6;
Now, let us solve these equation for x
Add equation 1 and 2
X+Y =32
X- Y=6
------------------
the Y get cancelled .
So 2X=38
divide by 2 on both side of the equation
2X 38
----- = ------
2 2
X = 19 ----- Jane's age is 19.
Now let us find Nicole's age.
Substitute X= 19 in the equation 1.
19+Y=32
isolate the Y
Y= 32-19
Y=13
Nicole's Age is 13.
Both of them are in teenage . Their ages are 19 and 13.
