Mathematics Tutoring (JH, HS, College)
Wyzant has so many great calculus tutors; you can find one quickly. Also, it depends on what you need help with. When I tutor those who struggle with calculus, they either need a better algebraic background or help understanding the formulas they use. You are often asked to remember the formulas, and there are many of them, but it is important to remember what the problem is asking you to do and why you need the formula(s).
The best advice I ever got from a professor was to do 5-10 extra problems a night, write good notes, and then re-write better notes. My lack of understanding came from my small hiatus from high school to college because I was in the Army. So, I had a couple of gaps. My professor told me these little tricks; I improved because I practiced daily. As a math major, I also had to take Calculus 1, 2, and 3, so it was a "must-do."
