What is a good way to remember the carpal bones of the hand?

Scaphoid, Lunate, Triquetrum, Pisiform; Hamate, Capitate, Trapezoid, Trapezium

This is my favorite mnemonic to remember the carpal bones because it helps me remember the names as well the direction.

Straight Line to Pinky (the proximal row/ row closer to the forearm) - we start with the Scaphoid which is on the radial/thumb side and we are moving in the direction of the pinky

Here Comes the Thumb (the distal row/ row closer to the fingers) - starts with the Hamate which is under the pinky and then we move toward the thumb

The pneumonic we learned was Some Lovers Try Positions That They Can't Handle, where the bones are: Scaphoid, Lunate, Triquetrum, Pisiform, Trapezium, Capitate, & Hamate. The first four bones are proximal, and the last four listed are distal and are adjacent to the Metacarpal bones.

The carpal bones of the hand are a group of eight bones that are immediately distal to the radius and ulna of the forearm. These bones make up your wrist and can be organized into two rows, a top (proximal) and a bottom (distal) row, with four bones in each row. The easiest way to remember the names and positions of these bones is to read them like a book from medial (thumb/radius side) to lateral (pinky/ulna side) and top row to bottom. Keeping these positions in mind we can remember the mnemonic Some Lovers Try Positions That They Can't Handle.
