The ratio means that for every 11 green M&Ms in the bag, there are 9 yellow ones.
There are 66 green M&Ms in the bag. This is 11 x 6. So, since there are 11 x 6 green M&Ms in the bag, there must be 9 x 6 yellow ones! 9 x 6 = 54 yellow M&Ms.
As an equation, you write it as 11/9 = 66/x. Then cross multiply 11x = 66*9. Divide by 11 so x = 6*9 = 54.
