Why are folks not available still advertising as available on your site?

I reached out to a math tutor that said they have no availability, but then i was offered a higher priced tutor.

Why are folks not available still on the site as active?

thank you,

jody

I can only speak for myself but this time of year is incredibly busy for good tutors who offer services at a reasonable price because MANY students are preparing for final exams. Consequently, I keep my status as "not accepting new students" most of the time because I get inundated with new student requests otherwise. When I do switch my status back on to "accepting new students" I can get several new student request within a few hours and I end up having to tell some that I don't have availability. I suspect other tutors are in the same position. The more expensive tutors generally have more availability just because of cost.
