x=-2 is one zero
x+2=0
x=6 is a 2nd zero
x-6=0
x+2 is one factor
x-6 is another factor
multiply the two factors together
a(x+2)(x-6)
as x goes to -infinity, the quadratic goes to -infinity, so a<0
-(x+2)(x-6)
=-(x^2-4x -12)
=-x^2 +4x +12
