There are 20 marbles in the jar (5 + 8 + 4 + 3).


Five (5) of those marbles are blue. So the probability of picking a blue marble is 5 out of 20 or 5/20 which reduces to 1/4 or 0.25.


FYI the probability of selecting a green marble is 0/20 or 0.
