Is the function g(x)= 7/6 x linear or nonlinear?

g(x) = 7/6x is ambiguous

If you mean (7/6)x, then it's linear. Graphically it's a straight line (where the term linear comes from)

but if you really did mean 7/6x= 7/(6x) = (7/6)x^-1, then it's nonlinear, as graphically it's rectangular hyperbola

It’s linear. Anything without a radical or an exponent (squared, cubed, etc.) is a line. Here, you have only the lead term, no squared, cubed, etc. If you graph this, you will see a straight line. I hope this helps.
