To write the number in standard form, we move the decimal a number of points to the left or right depending on the power.
When we have 10-3, the negative means we move the decimal to the left, and the power of three means we move it 3 places over. (example: 3.2432 * 10-3 = 0.0032432)
When we have a 101, that is exactly the same as *10. That is, we are moving the decimal to the right one place. (Example: 5.0 * 101 = 50)
When you have a positive 6, that means just like above you're moving the decimal, only 6 spaces to the right this time.
