Also, remember, "to lose" is a verb, and "loose" is an adjective. Hence, you will use them differently in sentences, e.g.: - I don't know why I always lose my keys. - These pants are too loose; I have to buy a smaller size. And if you are looking for another mnemonic, the word "verb" is shorter than the word "adjective", so "lose" (shorter word) is the verb and "loose" (longer word) is the adjective.

Of course, but a simple trick like the one I mentioned often helps struggling students the most. There is time later to dig into the finer details once they grasp the general concept. Feel free to answer more in depth on your own post if you find your students learn in a different way.
