Add the three values in the proportion together, the sum is the total "number of parts". then each part is the fraction for it (example, 13) divided by that total (say, 35). then multiply that fraction by the £28, to get an exact value for that part (or as close as you can, given shillings and pence -- thought you were on € now??). do the same treatment for the other two parts, respectively, also. then check your sum, should be £28 again.
