log₃(8x)
= log₃8 + log₃x = log₃(2³) + log₃x
= 3log₃2 + log₃x
= (3ln2 + lnx)/ln3
if you want your answer in base e

log base 3 of 8 + log base 3 of x
= about 1.893 + log base 3 of x
3 squared =9
so 3 to slightly less than 2 power = 8

actually it is a correct answer, and down to a 3 decimal approximation same answer as the other tutors answers too although one did 3log base 3 of 2, which is also correct. but you probably have some computer problem that requires a specific format. do a different format and they mark it wrong, so without specific instructions on the format required, it could be any of several possibilities. sometimes they want a fraction, 1/2, sometimes a decimal, 0.5, sometimes rounded to 2, 3, or 6 decimals. they don't make it easy, that's the nature of computer solutions11/05/23
