Quotient means you're dividing the numbers so:
Multiply both sides by "x" to get:
24 = 14x - 2x2
Subtract 14x and add 2x2 to both sides to get:
2x2 - 14x + 24 = 0
Divide both sides by 2 to get:
x2 - 7x + 12 = 0
Factor to get:
(x - 4)(x - 3) = 0
Set each factor equal to zero to get:
x = 4 or x = 3
