-5x+6=12x+62
given ,
let the equation is -5x+6=12x+62
we will keep the same terms one side
-5x+12x=62-6
7x=56
x=8

-5x + 6 = -12x + 62
You'll want to first combine like terms on either side of the equal sign. In this case, the two terms on each side are unlike, so skip this step.
Next, need to get both x terms together on one side (usually the left side) and the numerical terms on the other. Always use the opposite operation. As these terms are adding, need to subtract 6 from both sides and add 12x to both sides (because it's -12x).
-5x + 12x = 62 - 6
Now can combine like terms. -5x + 12x = 7x; 62 - 6 = 56
New equation to solve: 7x = 56. Now can use division to "undo" the multiplication by dividing both sides by 7.
x = 56/7 = 8
Check! -5(8) + 6 = -12(8) + 62 -> -40 + 6 = -96 + 62 -> -34 = -34 (OK)
