Experienced Instructor in Prealgebra, Algebra I and II, SAT/ACT Math.
First isolate the variable term on one side by subtracting 2.90 from both sides (subtraction is the opposite of addition).. Then you can divide both sides by 1.25 to find m by itself.(division is the opposite of multiplication).
Check your answer by substituting your value for m into the equation to see if it "balances".
You really need to be able to solve equations like this one.
