A long year-end status report for work is 76 pages long. You need to print 18 copies for a meeting next week. How much is the paper going to cost for those reports? Paper is sold in reams (500 pages) for $3.05 each.

First we must find out how many sheets of paper we will need for the project.

76 pages in each report X 18 reports = 1368 sheets of paper.

Each ream of paper has 500 sheets. so 1368 sheets / 500 sheets per ream = 2.736 reams.

But partial reams cannot be purchased, so you must buy 3 full reams. There will be paper left over.

Each ream costs $3.05, so 3 reams cost 3.05 X 3 or $9.15. This is the total cost of the paper, (without taxes).
