The cost of first plan is 0.18 x. ( where x = no of minutes)
The cost of the second plan is 44.95+ 0.08 x.
Initially, the first plan will be cheaper, but after some number of minutes it will become more expensive. So we set up an equation where the cost of the first plan is more than the cost of second plan. and then solve for x.
0.18 x > 44.95 +0.08 x
0.18 x - 0.08 x >44.95
0.10 x > 44.95
x. > 44.95/0.10
x. > 449.5
at 450 minutes or more the second plan will start to be beneficial.
