2x – 4y = 2
the question doesn't work
If it's instead supposed to be
4x + 4y = 4
2x – 4y = 2
The adding the two equations together gives
6x = 6 which means x = 1
Plugging x back into either of the first two equations gives y = 0
And if it's
4x – 4y = 4
2x – 4y = 2
You subtract the two equations and get the same final result: x =1 and y = 0
