need to find LCD, multiply, and solve for x

Consider the following linear equation containing fractions.

3 + x

 + x + 7

 = 3x + 1

Find the least common denominator of the fractions in the equation.


Multiply both sides of the equation by the least common denominator to eliminate the fractions. (Simplify your answer completely.)


 

 = 18x + 6
