You can also do this one side at a time.

Each of the six sides is 24 feet by 24 feet. This is 24^2 square feet. The tiles are 4 feet squared. So divide (24 × 24) by (4 ), or (24 × 24) / (2 × 2) = 12 × 12 = 144 tiles. Since a cube has six faces (sides), 144 × 6 = 864 tiles.

This way, it is easier to carry out the arithmetic, since the numbers are much smaller.

And do not forget the units, (tiles).

PS: How do you know a cube has 6 faces? How many numbers are on a die (one cube of a pair of dice)?
