If the hour hand moves 30 degrees every hour, how many degrees does it move in 2 hours? Just multiply 30 degrees by 2 to get 60 degrees.
Follow the same pattern for 2 1/5 hours, i.e. multiply 30 degrees by 11/5. 30 (11/5) = 66 degrees.
Here is how you might visualize with the units included for the conversion:
Notice for the factor on the left (2.2 hours) the unit "hours" is in the numerator. For the factor on the right (30 degrees/ hour) the unit "hour" is in the denominator. The "hours" unit cancels out and you are left with degrees.
2.2 hours ( 30 degrees / 1 hour)
