If DEG =(5x-4), GEF=(7x-8) and DEH= (9y+5) find the values of x and y

Apprently these are adjacent angles. Yet without specifying the relative position of D, F, and G appropriant equattions cannot be developed.

Without a figure, I'll need to assume that you're given angle measures and that segments DE and HF are perpendicular. Therefore,

(5x-4)+(7x-8)=90

12x-12=90

12x=102

x=8.5

To solve for y,

9y+5=90

9y=85

y=9 4/9
